Greece has around 3.000 islands and counting in all the islets it's around 6.000 (only 227 are inhabited). Greece has more than 15.000 km of coastline.
Greek nature is extremely varied ranging from snow covered mountains to thousands of sun drenched islands with sandy beaches.
The main Greek island destinations are Santorini, Crete, Rhodes, Corfu and Kos.

Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea and my favourite. Western Crete to be exact. I've been there many times and I'll be coming back. Still places to see and paths and trails to walk.
I have so far been visiting only Corfu, Rhodes and Crete but I still hope to explore more of these charming islands.

Even though the islands is popular destinations to tourists one can still find some real greek way of living just outside the tourist resorts in the small villages.
The islands is great for walks in the countryside. A stroll through olive groves or a strenous walk along the coastline with a swim in one of the small lagoons. You can explore some of the ravines, Gorge walks or go ramling in the mountains.
